THE VAMPIRE BOOK: THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF THE UNDEAD by J. GORDON MELTON
Detroit 1994: Visible Ink

Only comic book material covered herein.

Among the other entries may key appearances of vampires are covered. There are some curious omissions: Action Comics Annual#1's vampires are overlooked, and there is little discussion on specific horror genre vampire stories except those where the vampire is the theme of the entire series.

It is good however to see coverage of Baron Blood, Nightstalkers, and the like. The only problem is that the same info tends to be repeated in various entires (Blade, Nightstalkers, Midnight Sons).

Not a total loss for comic fans who enjoy vampires, with some interesting commentary on the ties between Batman and vampires, but the book works better as book on vampires as a whole than on its specific comic book content.
