VICTORIA NAUTICAL SONG CIRCLE

The VNSC hosts the:

2nd Sea Song Sing Out
Friday 27 June 2008, 9:30 pm
Bent Mast Restaurant
512 Simcoe St., James Bay neighbourhood
Victoria, BC

It's over!
See you at the next one, June 2011

In conjunction with, yet not in cahoots, Nebraska, the VNSC hosts the second Sea Song Sing Out occuring during the Victoria Tallship Festival (26-29 June 2008). This is not an official program component of the festival, however given the fun had at the first SSSO during the VTS05 I'm sure it will be welcomed by the participants.
This event is for the Crews, Performers and Nautical Song and Sea Shanty enthusiasts. No cover. No TVs. No smoking. Pints $5.25 Basket Fries $4. Downstairs, main room. See "Sailing Orders" link below for directions.

We've just finished the Second Sea Song Sing Out, and while I'm not sure I'm cleared for working on web pages, I thought I should thank Gerry, owner of the Bent Mast, and all the folks who attended. Wow.
Many have confirmed they'd be at the same place, the Bent Mast, for Saturday or Sunday evening, for more songs and such. Please feel free to gather here and do so. Gerry advises that the kitchen will stay open late for those who wish alternatives to their regular food source or prefer to eat after performing or working.

Also some of the folks who enjoy gathering for song at the VNSC may be singing a bit at the Maritime Mosaic program of the Tallship Festival. This is hosted by the Maritime Museum of BC with whom we've had great co-operation in the past.
Larry & Noreen Frisch appear at 12:50 on Sat 28 June 08, for half an hour of meldeon, mandolin and song. They're followed by two local Morris sides/teams from 1:30-2:10. At 2:10 to 2:30 pm you have The Hankies, lovely a cappella song and harmonies, of death, drowning, despair, murder and mayhem, in both official languages! More Morris Sunday, also at 1:30-2:30, at the Wharf St. or "Enterprise" site.
